Anxious
in the twilight of dawn
restless as the waves
roasting as nuts in a frying pan
what will this day bring?
When will seasons change?
molehills cast long shadows
at noon taller and higher gaining stature
aghast and anguished by heights unknown
frazzled souls descend drowning
speedily by the stone knotted tie
struggling for the ship’s rudder
ageless captain resigns in shock
heading for the iceberg of despair
cut loose from the anchor
reduced to a crust of bread
