The spotless sinless lamb of God
Bruised battered rejected and defiled
Descended into hell’s dungeon separated from the Light
Swallowed wrath for every man
I say for every man for all times
The horde of darkness celebrated your death
They heard you say you were forsaken
They saw you transform from light into darkness
They beheld the Father turn his back on you
They knew the earth quaked in disbelief
They saw you yield your spirit
They watched you descend into the region of the damned
Hell welcomed her greatest prisoner
Wrath was extinguished God has died for man
Sin, you lost the power to make men sinners
Death you lost your grip to separate us from God
God has died for man all cases dismissed
God’s blood has made an eternal ransom
All accusations expunged
Sinless one Holy one
It was for me you wept
It was for me you died
The Father’s faith invaded hell
Pure light unrestrained eternal energy raised you
The accuser lost his throne paraded before his troop
You stripped him you crushed his head you took the keys
The graves opened when you were crucified
The saints arose when you were raised
I was the guilty one
But I am risen with you
